View Full Version : Stent pain- what does yours feel like?

I had a stent put into my kidney/bladder on Friday - I am 31weeks pregnant and was having horrible kidney stone pains- but they couldn't do x-rays nor blast them- and after 2 days on dilauded and not passing them- they decided to give me the stent - which I'll have until the end of my pg.

I have a constant burning at the end of my urethra.... the way it feels when I have a UTI --- pain/uncomfortable/burning - have to constantly pee sensation.

My Ob sent me for a urine culture yesterday to see if I do have a UTI but the results won't be back until Monday probably...

What does your stent pain feel like? Is this what I'm feeling? Or might I also have a UTI on top of everything else?

I'm showing lots of blood in my urine- too- is that normal for the stent? Does it ever go away?

I have been in tears thinking that I'll have to feel this way for another 2 months of my pregnancy- on top of the pg making me feel crappy at this point, too.

Any advice is helpful- thank you so much.

The blood and pain will subside. This is mostly due to the "trauma" from inserting the stent. You will feel discomfort and the need to pee which will be heightened based on the position of the little miracle inside you. Good luck.

My stent hurt like the dickins...I kept having spasms and they finally gave me some meds to control that part and then it was ok. See if they will give that to you.
