My symptoms are: Rigidity of arm, left hand tremor, need to go to the bathroom a lot, night and day sweats, cramps and stiffness in left leg. My eyes are sestive to light, sometimes I have to try and focus on the alarm clock in order to read it in the morning. And I don't sleep very well at all. Plus my legs get hot. I'm having an MRI done soon, however I did see a Nuro, but not a "movement disorder" and he is leaning toward PD. Any thoughts would be greatly apprecated. Please, looking for answers

HI, if by PD you mean Parkinsons Disease, I would re-think anyone telling you those symtoms are conclusive with Parkinsons. My mother and Father have both been diagnosed with PD for over 10 years, they are under the care of a very prominent Parkinsons specialist in Philadelphia, neither of them have any of the symtoms that you describe beyond the shaking. And, the shaking is not intermittent, nor is it something that can be controlled. It is a constant, keep their hands in their pockets or hold the bad hand with the good hand type of symtom.
Now, I have Multiple Scerlosis. I have had it about 4 years, with a positive Dx for 2 years, and have been on Rebif for one year at this time. I also have none of the symptoms that you describe. Stiffness is not an MS symtom, spasticity is....rigidity and hand tremors do not necessarily go hand in hand with MS either...more of a pins and needles or tingling numbness would be exact. As far as bladder problems, yes, that is an advanced stage of MS, but I would honestly say that you would have several other MS symtoms beofre you would ever get to that point.

Honestly, you sound scared, and for that I am sorry. But, you also sound confused. It does not sound like you are getting very good information from whomever you are seeing. Who is sending you for the MRI? IS it an neurologist, and does he specialize in any type of neurology? If not, you might want to take these films to an MS specialist, or even a Parkinsons specialist and get a second opinion. There are thousands of tests that will be run on you before a dx is given. A spinal tap sounds like it might be the next most important test for you. It will rule out LYme, and several infections of the brain that might also be causing some of your symtoms..
Good luck.

Monki,

Thank for your response. Yes, I am scared and confused. I did go to a Neurology, and he "said I had a mild case of PD". However, I forgot to tell him about having blured vision while I was driving and not being able to read the alarm clock...and of course some of the things I mentioned above. Also, when I get out the shower, I'm so hot, I dripping with sweat.....wird huh.... I"m not for sure if vision is part of MS or not.. I feel like I have to drag my foot as well....these are things I never told the Dr. I guess I really need to put a list together....

The Dr just said I had PD, gave me some stuff to read and to call him if anything gets worse....SO yes, I'm in shock. Some of this stuff I am going through doesn't mirror PD. Yes, this is the same Dr who ordered the MRI only because I asked him to. I will be going to another Neurologtist. Thank you for writing back it really meant a lot to me. God Bless YOU!!! Please write again if you can...sincerely Worried54
