View Full Version : Anyone had a tori removed?

Has anyone out there had a boney tori removed from their outer jaw? I had a very large torus removed from the outer part of my left upper jaw last November. The procedure involved cutting my gums from the front of my eye tooth to the back of my jaw and raising it to expose the bone. The bone was then shaved down and contoured and the gums stitched back in place. The surgeon said it was the largest one he had ever removed in all his years in practice. Anyway, my mouth is much more comfortable with the ridge removed, but I still have one spot on the back part of my jaw that is a bit red and sore. The dentist said it would take "awhile" to heal, but I am beginning to worry. Is this normal? How long has it taken for everyone else to heal from something like this?
