Not sure it sounds like iritis to me. Has it happened more than once? I have Iritis and Uviatis so sometimes get symptoms mixed up but...I have never had burning before, The inflamation is in the back of the eye, it affected my vision, like you are looking underwater. I feel i dull pressure behind the eye, like it is going to explode, the eye doc can check your pressures and have a good look, best to back to them. Every one is different

thanks yes quiet a few times but I never worried about it. But when I went to see a specialist and had AS diognosed in a hand book on AS it said about iritis and recomend going to DR or hospital and that is what I did. That day both my eyes were weeping & webing vision was very blury all day and in the night it was burning and both eyes very bright red and sore.

I had my first flare up of iritis about 12 years ago. My eye doctor found I was hla-b27 positive. It is extremly painful. I have had several flares over the years and have been on everything imaginable. I've had steroid injections into the white of my left eye. Up until the end of January I was on a combination of remicade and methotrexate. It was keeping it in check but I just lost my health insurance due to not being able to return to work after knee surgery to take an enchondroma off the tibia and repair of the meniscus. Along with the iritis I have fibro myalgia, RA/OA, I also have aortic and mitral valve insufficiency all due to the hla-b27. I guess my best advice is get a good team of doctors together. They must work well with each other to help you. All of my doctors know that when I say I'm not well I am really not feeling well. It took years though of being told I was depressed and fat and even just plain faking to find a group of dr's that understand. good luck.

I had an iritis last year, my eye was very sore first then it got red and very painful. When my eye would dilate or when I moved my eyes it hurt really bad. There was no drainage from my eye. They gave me steroid drops and dilated my eye for about three weeks. (Yuk) It did affect my vision in that eye, but once I was able to stop the drops my vision cleared back up. Hope this helps.
