Hello everyone!

Looks like a great board!

OK before making the call to the DR here is the problem.

For about 3 weeks I have had very mild pain, mostly all discomfort in my testicular region.

I do not know what could of caused this - however I do not know if there is to be concern.

There are no lumps/bumps of any kind. I did talk to a close family member who is a nurse and she said it probably is a groin pull and nothing to worry about.

However there is no pain in the groin area unless that extends to the testicals.

Is this just a pull or minor hernia or should I take a nice trip to the DR's? If so what do the DR's do to check for anything?

Advice needed - thanks!

Many things can cause this. Are you very active? Have you done any lifting of any sort? What type of under-shorts do you where? I guess these are basic questions that the doctor might ask. How long have you been having this discomfort, a few days? a few weeks? What about rough sex/foreplay? I ask myself a lot of these questions when I discover a minor problem. Usually, it's somthing I've done with out realizing it. Sometime, if we move to fast, or get up the wrong way, this will cause soreness/discomfort. But if it's nothing, a warm or hot bath will usually do the trick. Good luck!

You may have epididymitis which is an inflammation of the epididymis. An antibiotic treatment helps to cure the symptoms. I had this in a chronic way several years ago and was treated over and over again until I found a physician who would treat my immune system. He had me take the supplement bromelain (which is a pineapple extract) as well as echanacia with golden seal (made from the cone flower). This did the trick. But the aching in the balls is familiar. I changed the type of underwear I was wearing at the time and that didn't help.
I've gone commando for many years now. It wasn't the underwear, however, that was causing the problem. Hope this helps. Sometimes the antibiotic clears it up for good, however.

Thanks guys -

going to the Dr's tomorrow to get it looked at.

Goingcommando - what do they do to check for anything? What is the procedure the Dr's go through? Will I have to go see an urologist? Do they take blood?

Anything I can look for tomorrow would be great - thanks!

My doctor (family or specialist) examins the scrotum and can tell that the epididymis is swollen. I eventually could feel it myself after he showed me what to look for. So, all I had was an external exam of the testicals. Let us know what comes of all of this. It may help others who suffer the same

Went to the DR and she said she found nothing unusual and it is just a pull. She said it can take a very long time to heal since this is a very sensitive area.

Good to know - and still worth getting checked out.

Hi guys -

Back with another question. Since I last posted the discomfort did go away - however a few days ago it has returned.

Again, the discomfort can be on one testical or the other - sometimes both.

Unfortunately I have a new insurance policy and do not have a primary care DR. - At this point should I go see a urologist?

Last time the DR found no unusual bumps - there is no pain, however the discomfort does worry me.

Is it possible to have discomfort w/ no lumps and have it be cancer?

How should I proceed in this matter? Thank you.

You might have Orchialagia. Its a complex problem and you should probably talk to your MD and have her/him send you to a referal to a big hospital Urologist. The treatments go all the way from drugs, Tens, Nerve Blocks to surgery all the way to Orchiectomy. How long have you had the pain? What is it like on a 1 to 10 scale with 1 being nothing.
