..a smooth, kinda elongated lump inside her vagina today. I'm really concerned because I don't know what it is or what caused it. She had me check.. and it seems to be just a couple of inches inside and it feels kind of hard. Not like a bone, but more like cartilage(spl?). She didn't say it hurts her and there are no other symptons. I don't know what I should do. I know she needs to see a doctor but she is going to be really afraid to and probably would like an idea of what it is before she goes. Thanks for any advice you can give us.

Hi,
That is scary for your girlfriend, but it is more likely to be harmless than something harmful. Of course, she should get it biopsied, but it's more than likely a cyst or non-cancerous growth. Still, make the appointment for as soon as possible, so she can find out and stop worrying.
The best thing you can do is try not to seem worried yourself (but do seem loving and supportive), take her to the appointment, listen to all of her feelings, try not to put them down (such as if she starts to panic), and keep letting her know you are there for her.

Hi,
Is it around the size of a ping pong ball? and is there two?..I read a post just now whilst searching for answers to my problem and found this is exactly like mine: http://www.healthboards.com/boards/showthread.php?t=206726 but as its an old post and that person hasnt been active since 2004 i can't ask what their outcome was.
I noticed it quite a while ago i've not told anyone and am scared it could be seriousjust today i posted a message about it on another help site and am waiting to be contacted back. I did look up about vaginal lumps today and found something about glands, it could be that but then i have two in different places. On the right it is just inside the vagina whereas the left one is further down.

Is it actually on the side of her vagina or sort of hanging down? Is it possible she could be feeling her cervix? Do a search online for diagrams and you should see. The cervix rises and lowers with the menstrual cycle and when the woman is not ovulating, it is harder--consistency like the tip of the nose. During ovulation, it is higher and softer and feels like the lips.

Definitely to be on the safe side, she should see a gynecologist.

If the bump is inside her vagina & its as a high point ( as far as your finger will reach) then this is normal. Its the G Spot which is smooth & becomes hard when sexually aroused or when the bladder needs emptying. However its always BEST to see the doctor to be 100% certain.

sounds like shes feeling her cervix! if she doesnt know where her cervix is, she should read a book that will describe what it is and where it is. it is inside the vagina in the back and it is a smooth, hard 'bump'.

You know, it does sound like the cervix. LOL, I don't know why my first thought was a cyst... I guess because I know someone who had a growth that turned out to be a cyst/tumor. But what he describes does sound like the cervix.
