I have been calling locally about dental care, which I know I can't afford.
Yea...I can afford to the initial visit.
It's the cost my three cavities, one crown that fell off a few months ago and needs to be replaced, and the crown for a molar that is only 3/4 there since it broke in Nov 2003...that I can't afford.

Yes, I called the Univ Maryland dental school in Baltimore...can they make it any harder than it is to make a new patient appt...NO!!

Have I told you lately how much I resent living on disability income!! with no dental insurance.

No reply needed.
I just need to yell and the cat doesn't seem to care :dizzy:

carolyn --- I do. scream it out because it is unfair. I wish this country had the same medical benefits for everyone. they have my vote on it. Tell the cat he/she doesn't have to listen because you have people who care.:) I'd get the molar pulled if you can. Just went through hell for a year putting crowns on two molars. it's a waste of time and money. I wanted them pulled and the dentist fought me tooth:blob_fire and nail.

Feel so sorry for you you know what you need to do is get your country to sit up and listen why not have a national health service like us yeah its not great but i dont have to worry about going to hospital if i have an accident. And as for dental if you work you pay maximu amount you can pay on nhs is 189.00 and if your on disability your treatment is free.

Goodness...

Yes, I know I should just have the darned things pulled, I just need to convince myself to do it.

I called the Univ of Maryland Dental School today and was told to call back on Fri or Mon. So I will. They have services for disabled, so I am going to check that out before making a decision. I just don't want to get into trouble before doing something. The thought of an infection bringing on a root canal some day...ugh and double ugh!

Thanks for the encouragement. Sounded silly to holler, but I just had to do it...LOL

carolyn --- yelling helps us alot. Sid knows what I have been through for over a year because of my negligent old dentist of 5 years. I had two pulled, one root canal that is not crowned (dentist wouldn't do it) now i am faced with two crowns on the two furthest back molars that should have been pulled, 3 heavy duty cavities that God knows what my new dentist will find when he goes to fill them and I have one missing front with a bonded bridge that's 25 years old and is finally loose. that has to come out so the teeth it's been bonded to can be checked out after not being seen for 25 years. Alot of pain, alot of time. I have been at this for over a year and not even half way done. I regret not having what I wanted pulled done and then i would have been done with this. I have fabulous dental insurance so it's only cost me maybe $100 for it all BUT it has cost my insurance co. $3000 in the past 18 months. Sad part of it is by the time they get it all done I'll probably lose them anyway:D

Grasshopper
