Hello everyone,
I am 53 yo, post-menopausal, not overweight, do exercise regularly. I believe I have Ostearthritis (haven't been tested) but have been tested for RA (negative) in lower back/hips areas. When I complained to my dr. about it, dr. has said it is basically getting older, to exercise, take Advil when needed. Really don't want it to get worse, so I've been doing the following:
- no longer wake up stiff in the morning - getting a memory foam topper helped a lot.
- alternating between Tylendol Arthritis and Liquid Advil whenever needed seems to helps if I'm feeling achy.
- after too much movement, I find laying down/resting a few minutes helps.
- started taking glucosamine sulfate/chondroitin/MSM again and notice it helps alot too.
- just rented some yoga for the back and hips and found it helpful so will be purchasing some to do regularly.
My concern lately has been this creaking or clicking like noise I feel from my lower back area when I'm walking, bending and even laying on my side if I stretch my back out. No movement restrictions, am fairly flexible too. I've read that it is a result of "gases" between the joints. Does anyone know if I should be overly concerned (it's not painful) and if there's any treatment for this? (I have had this a couple of years ago too but seemed to have resurfaced recently).
Any advice would be appreciated.
thanks,
molly
