Welp - I've almost made it to Day 4 Smoke-free and it's great. There were times when I thought about smoking, but not really that many. I'm sure my hubby is having a tough time, he's driving the whole State of Florida right now with lots of windshield time. And that's hard, he said he's chewing lots gum and biting his cheek alot.
I'm feeling great and have more energy than I ever did and I'm in a much better mood. People at work have noticed "the new ME". I even received a lot of compliments today on my new jeans which really made me feel good. (course when I gain 20 lbs, we'll see)
My mother-in-law is coming on Friday, so I'm looking forward to not stressing about smoking when she's here. We never let our parents know we smoked, yeah, I'm 44 yrs old, I'm an adult, but I was ashamed. Now I'm looking forward to her visit (I think) - and can spend some quality time with her.
Hope everyone else is doing great too! Keep up the good work!
I have been quit for 3 Days, 22 hours, 13 minutes and 9 seconds (3 days). I have saved $5.88 by not smoking 39 cigarettes. I have saved 3 hours and 15 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 2/23/2007 7:00 PM

That's really awesome Skimmer!!! Congratulations!!! Glad to hear all is going well with you.
It must be hard for your husband being tied to a routine that used to include smoking. I read that some people who quit after having previously smoked in their cars found it real helpful to clean out their cars real well to get rid of the smoke smell. I wonder if he would find something like that helpful.

Thanks Kevin!
Well, that's funny you should mention that - I detailed his car this past weekend - I mean really, really detailed it - and it was clean as a whistle. He just bought this car not too long ago, and he was trying to turn the A/C off when he smoked, and roll the window down, but you know how that goes. You can still smell it.
I just hope he does okay - because if he falls off the wagon, I don't want I'm gonna do. I don't know people do it - couples where one of them smokes, and the other doesn't. I would HATE that! How stinking for the non-smoker! Well - that's me - the non-smoker now!
Congrats Kevin to you too! You little quitter, you!! :blob_fire

Oh, Ok... So you are already way ahead. Definitely some pretty sharp planning on your part. Verrryyy good thinking. Gee, it sure is a shame your husband can not find support from a board like this while on the road either. Please let him know there is a support group out here rooting for his success as well as your own. Though you pretty much have this problem licked already...

Skimmer,
WOO HOO!!!! That is awesome! It's amazing how quickly we feel 'good' or 'better'. Remember those feelings when you feel a strong pull back to the demon.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!:blob_fire :blob_fire

Skimmer,
YEEHAW!! 4 days is awesome!! Congrats to you!!
You were talking about not smoking around your MIL because she didn't know it. Are you sure? I'm 57 years old and I still didn't smoke in front of my mom or dad. I thought my dad knew I smoked. Mama did. But when my mom died
2 1/2 years ago, I was outside smoking and he came up and said "I didn't know you smoked. You need to stop that. They'll kill ya."
Keep up the good work!!
Rhonda,

Wailana - Free and Healing for Nineteen Days, 12 Hours and 35 Minutes, while extending my life expectancy 16 Hours, by avoiding the use of 195 nicotine delivery devices that would have cost me $50.61.
