Hello: I had a test called a VER test today which I was not happy to be taking because for some reason my eyes are not seeing very well these days and lights only seem to make matters worse. The goofy thing is that the lady doing the test kept yelling at me not to clench my teeth or jaw, it kept stopping her test -- stange thing was, my teeth weren't even touching and the jaw wasn't tight. Then she kept saying open my eyes because she wasn't getting a response, they were open -- they hurt, and they really hurt to move, and I've got a headache that feels like a spike through the head, which causes my head and face at times to be numb, but they were open. What was she talking about??? What does it mean if she doesn't get a response??? I am greatly confused.

This could mean a few things.

Your eyes and brain were not responding to the screen, which does happen in some with MS.

OR the electrodes were not properly placed.

In cases like this the tech doing these test get attitudes.

I think she had them on pretty good -- she came back and like welded them to my head and muttered a whole bunch of stuff. The thing is since they don't respond well. Will the test be worthless then? My head hurts so bad when I move my eyes that I've actually learned to move my head rather than my eyes.
