I am trying to deal with my best friend's death and my unhealthy ED behaviors are hitting a high gear. I don't know if I should continue to work on this issue, as her death was in June 2005. Advanced breast cancer at the age of 28. Maybe this is just too overwhelming. My ED has gotten worse over the past 3 months. [removed] Now, talking about it and thinking about her is just making me feel worse. Sad mood, frequent crying spells, and more withdrawn.

Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Have you been seeing a therapist and trying to come to terms with your friend's death? It's never easy to lose someone we love, especially at such a young age, but think of what your friend would want for YOU. She would want you to be happy and healthy, I'm sure, and not continuing to mourn her passing after such a long time.

If you feel your ED has gotten out of control, have you started at least outpatient treatment if not even considering going inpatient at least until things stabilize?

Please call your attention to the sticky post at the top of this page: "Avoiding Triggers". Thank you.
