Sometimes I get random bumps on the area of the vulva where hair grows. Is it just an ingrown hair? It looks a bit like a pimple and sometimes it has a little puss - no pain or itching and they go away and do not pop on their own.

I get these also - mostly when I exercise hard (cycling). I think sweating makes it happen. It's kind of like a pimple or ingrown hair. They contain pus - I can pop them or let them go away by themselves, but they always go away - one way or another.
My GYN confirmed it's most likely from the cycling. I've gotten them on the inside area also - those are more irritating, and take longer to go away. I soak in warm/hot water, and they eventually go away also.

I too use to get them all the time especially during the Summer months when I rode my bike. The first time I got one I was about 18 and it scared the crap out of me. I was sure I had some kind of cancer. Geeze. No one ever spoke of them and I was to afraid to ask anyone. It just grew and grew like this big pimple. I finally popped it and it hurt like you know what. A lot of pus popped out like a huge pimple but it still bothered me that I didn't know what in the world it was. The next time I got one I braved up and went to my doctor. He told me it was common and like a pimple, I forgot what he called it but it was not serious. I'd forgotten all about those things. I haven't had one in years. I am 49 now and 19 was a long time ago. :-)
