Hi Everyone,
I hope someone could help me with some info.
I had a motorcycle accident in 2002 which has left me in chronic lower back pain. I landed on my back and the bike landed on top off me. I have seen a few specialists within a few months of my accident and they both have said i should be fully fit within 12 months. It has been four years and the pain is just as bad as day one. I keep seeing my doctor and he has put me on Tramadol 50mg painkillers ever since. On Friday 12th January, I had an examination at a hospital (back Clinic) and i was told that the Deep muscles in my lower back, next to my spine are damaged and there is nothing they can do apart from putting me on a waiting list for pain management clinic. This will will help me learn to live with the pain and i might be able to have the injection every six months. I have been told this is something that i will have to live with for the rest of my life. I get the pain everyday and i can't walk for more than 15 mins without getting really bad pain. It hurts to stand and wash-up or do the ironing and the house work is a little difficult too.
I was wondering if i could apply for the Blue badge parking???? I would love to speak to you guys so please get in touch.
Did you have problems with tramadol like a feeling of being in your on little world and not being able to concertrate! I'm finding it difficult at work to concertrate. Also i work 30 miles away and drive down the M6 and the tramadol do make me a little drowsy. Even to the point of feeling i'm nodding off. I have tried many other tablets but tramadol does help with the pain??
I have printed of the form DLA and have sent off for the Blue badge form, like people say its worth a try.
I do agree that there are many people out there that abuse the system and people like us who are in serious pain have to struggle.
Thanks
Steve
