Well, I can't strictly say that I haven't smoked. I had 3 puffs this last week but I'm very proud that I was able to stop myself. On Sunday, my 18 yo son was arrested. He was doing donuts in the city park, but was charged with racing on the highway (the highway is no where near the park), a class B misdemeanor. I think he'll be minding his p's and q's for a while though, he spent almost 30 hours in jail! He's never even had a ticket before, never been in trouble at all. The maximum sentence is $2000 and 6 months in jail! Now we just have to wait for the prosecutor to decide what to do with the case. He seems inclined to waive the charges as time served.
I've been back on the full dose of Chantix since the last time I posted and the joint pain is gone. Unfortunately, my blood pressure isn't cooperating anymore and I have an appointment for that Monday. It's probably because I've gained 8 pounds since I quit smoking (but food tastes so much better!!!!)
I have to get up and start walking or something lol.

Joryzmom, are you still quit? That is awesome if you are and going through these problems with your son. A cigarette won't change the fact that he was arrested (I think you should fight the charges). Good going on the Chantix/quit smoking!!!! :blob_fire  :blob_fire

Joryzmom! Way to go on your quit and realizing after 3 puffs that "Smoking is not an option." I love that phrase, and I use it often!! It won't fix anything and it won't help your son's ticket go away. Good luck with the Chantix, and I hope your blood pressure comes back down. I haven't even bothered to check mine, I'm feeling so great. But maybe I should stop by the Publix just for the heck of it. And I definitely needs to start walking or riding my bike! SOON!!! :blob_fire

Joryzmom,
I'm so sorry for your troubles. Dealing with teenagers can be tough sometimes. We love 'em to pieces and stand by them no matter what, but sometimes we wonder... what were they thinking?!:dizzy: If this is the worse thing he has ever done, you must be a very good parent.
How long have you been quit now? Not counting those 3 puffs. If you don't smoke any more, just pretend you didn't do that.:D We'll count that as an ooops, not a slip or a cave.
Please keep coming to this board. It will help to reinforce your quit.
Hopefully before long things in your life will calm down and your blood pressure will come down. Walking is good! It will also be good for your bp.
Good Luck to you!!

Today is day 50 on Chantix, Day 43 as a non-smoker.So wonderful Joryzmom!!! :blob_fire :blob_fire 50 days is incredible, it's time to treat yourself with a gift. :D

Speaking of tickets I saw a funny thing today. I was at the hospital* and there was a sheriff's van in the visitor parking lot with a ticket on it's windshield! :D :D

*Off topic - yes Memaw and Skimmer, I had the x-ray, now I'm gonna worry all weekend waiting for the results.
