I feel like I have been deprived all my life. In almost 47 years I have been told that I had to take prescriptions to "manage" my asthma. What a lie! I have taken inhalers every day or two for over 46 years. I've been on steroids (prednisone) and in hospitals more times than I can count. January 31, 2007 I was reading a book on natural cures for diseases and found a short paragraph on Asthma. I thought... It can't be that simple".
I was wrong. It really was THAT SIMPLE. For the past 31 days I have been taking a very specific type of Vitamin E and I have had NO MEDICATIONS for Asthma whatsoever. No Inhalers, No pills, No NOTHING. I am eating anything and everything that I am not supposed to. Those of you who have suffered with this as I have need to think outside the box. Doctor's don't want to CURE you. They only want to manage your condition. NO thanks, I'll manage it myself from now on.

"Natural Cures They Don't Want You to Know About" By Kevin Trudeau
Once you read past all the conspiracy theory stuff and get to the newsletters in the back... There are some very good things. So far I have cured my Acid reflux and Asthma.

I completely agree with you. Where would the drug companies be if alternatives started working for some people so that they could reduce their prescription drugs? God forbid that would happen! They certainly wouldn't be the billion dollar business they are now. I know drugs are necessary. They save lives. But very few drugs should be used habitually for the rest of your life. I went to my MD for acid reflux and he prescribed Nexium for me. I used it for about a month or two. It did help tremendiously, but I also had some side affects from it and noticed that I needed to take 2 a day instead of one to ease the heartburn. I asked my doctor about it and he told me that it should only be used as long as necessary and only until lifestyle changes and losing weight started reversing the disorder. WOW! He told me the truth. By the way, what kind of Vitamin E is this and where do you yours?
Thanks,
Cindy

For your heartburn, try Apple Cider Vinegar. I take mine in pill form because I understand it's vile tasting, and it could rot the enamel on your teeth. But the pills work great: one after breakfast, and one after dinner. It sure has helped me. Worth a try.

HI Cindy
First, get rid of your doctor, he lied. Go to a health food store and buy Acidophilus for your acid reflux. I was on Nexium for about 7 months. It worked as long as I took it, but when I stopped the reflux came back within days. EVERYTHING gave me heartburn. I started taking the Acidohilus once a day and no more reflux. It's been over a year and I have had heartburn once.
As for the vitamin E... I use a brand called Blue Bonnet. It is all natural. Whichever brand you buy MUST contain "mixed tocopherols". These tocopherols are... d-alpha tocopherol, d-gamma tocopherol, d-delta tocopherol and d-beta tocopherol. It MUST be natural and not synthetic and it must contain all four of these tocopherols. I take 1,000 IU's daily and you take it all at one time. YOu may want to start with only 200 or 400 IU's. Also, if you have any kind of heart condition where you are required to take blood thinners, please make sure you see your doctor before taking the Vitamin E.

Thanks so much for all the info. I know the Blue Bonnet brand. In fact, my multivitamin is Blue Bonnet. I will make sure to get that brand. As far as the acid reflux, I have been on Pearls by Enzymatic before. It is a great acidopholus and I want my kids to start it also. My son is only 16 and he has been complaining of acid reflux! We try to do as much natural around my house as possible.

just as a side note to be aware of: vitamin e is a fat soluble vitamin which means if you take excess of it, it gets stored in fat cells unlike vitamin c which is water soluble and gets excreted out when there is excess....this means it is possible to overdose on vitamin e and it can reach toxic levels in your body....if you are going to take that high of a dose of vitamin e every day, i would recommend talking to either a doctor or nutritionist about it first....but i am very glad that it is working for you!! i may try it in lesser doses myself because i am quite sick of the expensive meds :)

he may have some validity to his claims but I just read some reviews on a major booksellers website that make me personally wary. Not to say he doesn't have some good info but he also sounds like this book is a way to make big bucks.

Yes, and the author is on many different infomercials for all different products unrelated to each other. I am wary of anything the author has to say, honestly.

There seems to be much speculation about this book on the web, might be worth having a look at the reviews first of all..... but if what he says works....

So Has The Vit E Cured Your Asthma?

I cured mine with diet. Asthma happens because the lungs take on excretions from the kidneys and liver. The extra toxicity causes unhappy lungs. Eating lots of fruits and veggies stopped mine. I gave my cells what they needed to work properly. I also got off advair and albuterol. I got every side effect in the book, and my asthma got severely worse. Now, I breathe just fine. =) If my lungs are a little too congested I take a chinese herbal remedy to regulate mucus in the lungs, and I'm good for the rest of the day.

I elimiate sugar, eat a lot of vegetables,
avoid animal fat and chew foods at least 30 times before swallowing.
I'm an early riser and keep regular hours.
Breathing exercises make breathing easier.
Also, magnesium helps me a lot improve my lung function.
I learned all these things from 'Reversing Asthma' by Richard N Firshein.
This books also touches on nutritional supplements including vitamin C or E,
but, according to the author, magnesium is the key nutrient for asthmatics.
Thanks to the book, my asthma is now under control. Also I successfully reduced my doses of inhaled steroid and other medications.
