According to the 2000 Surgeon General's Report, tobacco smoking is still the number 1 cause of preventable disease and death in the United States. However, our bodies can be awfully resourceful. As soon as you stop smoking, Mother Nature can start repairing the damage. If you quit at least 5 days ago:
Your heart could be beating at least 17,000 fewer times a day.
Your blood pressure should be lower.
pretty cool, huh?

Thanks for the information Deb, it is true. I had my BP taken the other day and the doctor said it was perfect. :)

Yeah, I only wished I listened before my heart attack last November. At least all is better now. In fact I am in better shape now due to lifestyle changes (the biggest is becoming a non-smoker) It is a shame that most of us are reactive instead of proactive. So all of you that are being proactive:    :blob_fire :blob_fire :blob_fire

Cigarette smoking results in 5.5 million years of potential life lost in the United States annually.
Smoking causes abdominal aortic aneurysm. (This is what my mama died from)
Current trends show that tobacco use will cause more than 10 million deaths annually by 2020.
Aren't you glad you're a quitter?
