View Full Version : Wondering about detox "diets"

Not looking into them for the "diet" reason but for the purpose of cleaning out your body. My friend recommended some combination of water, lemon juice and cayanne (sp) pepper? Plus of course I've seen different things to buy at GNC and vitamin world. Basically, I'm just looking for something to help me feel better. I will be the first to admit I don't eat well but am really trying to start but I think this will give me fresh slate.

Any recommendations?

Thanks in Advance!

Hmmm. You said for the purpose of cleaning out your body. Colon cleanse products would do that also. They aren't a "diet" per se, rather a limited time cleanse (i.e. maybe a 3 day, 5 day, etc.)

I have seen some posts on Colonix, which is a colon cleanse product.

I recently heard about Advanced Naturals HOPE formula - high fiber, omega-3 oils, probiotics and enzymes. I have not tried it, have no idea if it is good or not.

Maybe someone else can tell us more.
Good luck! :)

The only effective cleanse that removes poisons and toxins from the body is Fasting which few can do. Years ago I did several supervised Fasts for 7 days at a time. At the same time, I did Colonics. Fasting for a few days is not effective. Recommended is a 14 - 21 day Fast drinking just water to totally cleanse the body. I've never been able to do one that long. The Herbs & Teas that claim to cleanse the body don't. If you were able to switch to a diet of fruit, vegetables and salads for a long period of time that would certainly be beneficial but dependings of Herbs & Teas and continuing your current diet is not the answer.

This is a little off subject... but when you were fasting.. did you get headaches? and if so, how did you get rid of them?

For me I have learnt that the best way to detox your system is with super foods like berries, they have natural detox enzymes, I have heard it lots of time, and I just watched the news the other day talking about how blueberries detoxify the body. It also said you can buy detox supplements but nothing is better then the natural thing.
