Hi, I was wondering if anyone suffers from Neurological fatigue and finds a lot of caffeine helpful?
I take 200 mg a couple of times a day plus a lot of diet coke.
Thanks
Mark

When I get neuro fatigue, the only thing that helps me is sensory depravation. I might sit in a quiet room, take a bath and duck my ears under the water to block out noise. I am naturally wired a little too tight, so I don't regularly have caffeine. I might have a Coke with an Immotrex if I am having a migrane (to shrink the blood vessels) but that's about it. Sorry I could not help further. :-(

all the time, with me, coupled with (caused by?) massive insomnia. so caffeine not a good idea. i am not a napper, but i am forcing myself to shut down for a while in the afternoon.

Is sensory overload a common symptom of MS? I am in the midst of testing and never thought of this as a symptom. Just curious...

Yep... I bet you will find a lot of people who have sensitivity to sensory overload. I get it at Targets, Costcos, crowed bars malls, restaurants... sigh. I read about it first in a book called Women Living with MS; they called it the Walmart Syndrom. Made me feel better I am not alone in that sensitivity!

OOOh, I want that book. I have sensory overload in busy restaurants, too. Dishes rattling, people talking, muzak playing.....I can barely stand it.
heading to Amazon to order!;)
Back to the OT, caffeine has never had any effect on me. I am taking Provigil now and it helps me not to sleep as much.

Ditto... major sensory overload!! Every day I have to stop and just shut my eyes for awhile in order to recoup; otherwise, I'm just asking for problems. On the days I don't rest my eyes (and ears) for a bit, I suffer the consequences later that evening or the next day. I thought I was the only one with this problem. I LOVE this board!! It's nice to "be around" others who totally understand~*

Funny, I haven't been here in ages but just got Provigil yesterday - prescribed for neurological fatigue. I can't believe what a difference - I feel like the "old me" is back!

I don't find that caffine helps with my fatigue. My Neuro ordered Amantidine and it seems to be helping me. I am not "my old self" but I certainly feel better.
It is nice to get through a day without crushing exhaustion stopping you in your tracks.

Well, Ive just been browsing through this site and came across MS. I have never heard of this before but I think I have had it for a very long time particularly with sounds and noised they drive me absolutely crazy that I feel like screaming out for it all to SHUT UP so I can breath. Thank you, thank you, I thought it was just me who had this quirky problem.
