View Full Version : My PCR test results are in!

Well, I guess it's good news!! The doc called today and said that my PCR test came back negative and that I don't have the virus. But now, of course, I'm wondering WHY my liver enzymes were elevated, WHY I had all these flu-like symptoms, and WHY WHY WHY did I get a REACTIVE test to the HCV antibody test? They want to test me again in 6 months, so as happy as I am right now I am also scared to death that in 6 months I am going to get BAD news. I know, I know...I should be rejoicing. Believe me...I am taking this as some sort of sign and definitely using this to change my lifestyle and to get the message of HCV out there. I have never been so scared in my life.

I'm still wondering if my antibody test was a false positive or if I truly have come in contact with the virus and cleared it on my own. I guess I'll never know. I suppose I could ask for another antibody test in a month or two just to double check.

Thank you for all the threads on this board. I have learned a lot about this virus and I intend to remain a member here and follow all of your stories. Thanks again to all of you who lifted my spirts and I wish every one of you the best with your own journey.

Hi, I am glad for you. Try not to worry yourself over this so much. It causes stress and stress can add different antibodies into your system. Go on with your life and hope that in 6 months your tests will still remain negative.

Hoping in 6 months you post with continued good news. A happy, worry free 6 months, I should be so lucky.
