I appologize if this is the wrong forum to post this is and hope it doesnt get moved or something because of the wrong location.

Here is the lowdown. I am only 22 years old and for the last year and a half I have been dealing with light headedness and extreme fatigue. It has gotten to the point that I dont even want to go anywhere because i have a feer that something detrimental might happen and it also effects what im doing at the time because i am completely miserable... i dont know where to turn or where to go and would like some advise on where to go or what it could be.

A year and a half ago is when it first happened. I was at work and just got done eating about a half of a breakfast burrito... All the sudden it was like I was going to pass out without warning. It lasted for about a half an hour and in the middle of it I felt like throwing up and actually did a little bit... After the half an hour to an hour of being light headed I was EXTREMELY drained and just plain exhausted. I got home and took a 4 hour nap even though I got 7 hours of sleep that night which for me is completely not normal. I have always had tons of energy and have been energetic and very productive at work and now it is just gone...

Two weeks later it happened again without rhyme or reason.
Since then it has been about the same thing off and on and sometimes it prevents me from doing things. for example i went to a car show about 250 miles from home and had to go to the hospitol because I thought I was going to pass out for about 3 hours and it just wouldnt go away... this is not something that I would EVER consider doing considering I was so far away from home and i really wanted to go to something i drove so far to do - its just that debilitating

Now to this day i have been having symptoms but the most prevelant is the being just completely tired no matter how much sleep I get and i get light headed almost every day now but sometimes it doesnt happen for a couple of days.

Now for the good part. I have been to the hospitol over a half a dozen times because I think and feel like something is seriously wrong with me...

All times they have not been able to do anything. I have been trying things with me dr and getting multiple blood tests. i have a multitude of tests and i think the only thing i have not done is gone to a endo

The tests I have had that I can remember.
- T3/t4 -
- Anemia / Iron test
- general blood test -
- recently had mono like test but cant remember name test for acute virus or something
- cbc
- had chest x-ray
- had full mri including dye
- wore a halter monitor for 4 days
- had a heart ultrasound
- ekg
- eeg
- ecg

Those are about all the tests I can think of but im sure they have tested for more... I just dont have the paperwork in front of me but basically all of them are normal

Symptoms:
-Light headed to the point that i think i am going to pass out (lasts anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours) it seems to get slighty better when i eat a little something but too much and it seems to make it worse or make me more tires

-nervousness when im light headed to almost panick state but i know for a fact these are not panic attacks

-extremely tired no matter how much sleep i get...

-i never feel rested when i wake up no matter how long i sleep

-i get bloated more frequently now for no reason at all

-diareah is common as well as hurting in that region with a generalized what feels like pressure down there almost

-occasional shooting pain throughout my chest region and sometimes what feels like my kidneys hurting

-wierd one... when it happens i usually have to go to the restroom almost immediately and take a number two - that to me has to be quite significant but i have no idea and the dr's have no idea why either...

The DR i have is very good and trying her best... for the tiredness she tried prescribing me wellbutrin xl but i have only been taking it since saturday when i got it... so until that kicks in i have no idea about the fatigue but that doesnt solve the light headedness whatsoever i think...

Thats about it really im just so frustrated and fed up i have no idea what to do or who to turn to... thank god for my girlfriend and supporting me through this whole ordeal as she has been put through alot and so have i.

Sorry to reitterate but this is just very frustrating and I should not be having these problems being only 22 but things happen its just a really wierd thing that is happening to me i guess...

If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it. Or if anyone has a possible diag I could ask my DR. about I would appreciate it. I am at a loss of what to do and anything would help... I dont know how much longer I can take this without quitting my job and going to the dr until i can find out what is wrong... THANK YOU VERY MUCH! sorry it was such a long post. Once again thank you very much if any of you can help

edit** a coworker advised me he had the same problem and it turned out he had a hernia and it was pressing on a veign and he was getting lightheaded for about 4 years and was always tired and then suddenly he started having alot of pain... this is the only suggestion i have for right now... i just odnt have the pain but have almost the exact same symptoms as him i think...

Have you been tested for food allergies ? Or gluten sensitivity ? Either could cause the bloating, diarrhea, fatigue and abdominal pain.

I have not yet been tested for food allergies but this happens weather i have eaten anything for hours or am eating at the time... also i dont think food allergies would cause such severe light headedness i wouldnt think?

I mentioned it above but did not specify which region I had a MRI on... YES I have had a MRI (head scan) it was a full deep brain scan it lasted about an hour and they scanned almost every part from my understanding... also used dye in two of the tests...

So really ive ruled out brain and heart and lungs i guess... good lord its frustrating

Thanks for the replies guys

The ultimate symptom of gluten sensitivity is malnutrition, which would cause light headedness, and it doesn't necessarily happen after eating.
There really isn't an accurate test for gluten sensitivity though. You'd just have to stop eating anything with gluten in it for a couple of weeks to see if your symptoms improve. That means no wheat, oats, barley or rye.

I suppose a weak heart valve/artery would have already been checked?
If you were african american, maybe check for sickle cell enemia. How about an inactive bowel/colon? I had a landlord, with simular simptoms that you are having. He went through a battery of test. The doctors could not find out what was wrong. They started treating him for acid-reflux, but that was not the problem. He had became weak, couldn't keep down any food most of the time, and had burning in his chest. They finally discovered that he had a twisted bowel, and that it had started to rot away by the time they discovered it. When he was a teen, he had testicular cancer. have you always been healthy? the doctors, using radiation and chemotherapy to remove the cancer, they guest that the chemotherapy effected his colon, killing the cells, and over a period of time, his bowel/colon stopped operating. This problem was only discovered, because of an emergency exploritory surgery! He checked into emergency one evening, and to save his life, they had to operate to see what was happening. I'm sad to say, they were too late to save him. He was only 43, and had suffers for years, not knowing what was wrong with him. If you're still in the mood for some advice, try different doctors, different test as well. You are in my prayers for a speedy recovery!

yep i had a ultrasound on my heart to check for a weak valve and to check and make sure everything was going ok there... i have always been healthy and have never had any problems / rarely got sick i mean i cant even remember the last time i had the flew or was tired... until it all started... it started off slow out of nowhere with an instant light headedness the first time and now im tired as hell now and get light headed on a pretty frequent basis. I dont really have a burning in my chest ever though just somewhat hard to breath every once in a while like i get short breaths its wierd...

One thing I have no idea if it could be and noted it above was the hernia and im going to the dr on friday to get there advice... i do trust the dr;s i am seeing right now they are very good and they really are trying but it doesnt seem like the other people are and its just that they cant do some of the tests that the specialists do... hell the neurologist wouldnt even talk to me after they got the results and i had to have everything relayed from his receptionist
