Hi all,

I've been taking Lamatical for 7 months now but am still having the absence seizures. I find that by controlling my diet and getting regular sleep helps a lot. However, if i over exercise or i'm feeling run down, the seizures will come back. As i love playing football (soccer) i feel this may be stopping me going back as it may happen during a game which won't be the best. Has anyone ever recovered fully from Petite Mal or is this now for life?

I don't know if it is actually recovering fromthem or just getting the right combination of life style and medication. I know for me over exertion, tiredness and stress can lead to them, but you should be able to play soccer as long as you make sure you're getting proper rest. You may need a change of meds. or a combination of. Good luck.

Scott,

Days will pass then weeks then months if your too careful a lifetime, you may still be having seizures if you play footie or not, just get on with the things that you enjoy! sometimes you will find it hard believe me, somedays i can finish a game and its a miracle that i haven't swapped teams twice as for the score who knows.

but life is only a short loan from nature and before i cashin i am going to have some fun!

I have been having seizures for the last 6 years and the med's have all been unsuccessful, time flies.
