I was wondering if there was any issue with going to the tanning bed? or with laying out in the sun??

Does anyone have any issues with swimming and it falling off?

I am going to Florida pretty soon and would like to know my limitations.

Hi Onyx!

I live in Florida and it gets very hot here. In the summer, I have a problem with the patches not staying on. For me, it seems like there is sweat built up where the patch meets the skin. And, it is so humid in Florida and that also creates a problem.

Also, I would NOT use a tanning bed for many reasons, skin cancer, etc. However, with the patch you are NOT supposed to add heat to your body. It says right on the paperwork that comes with your Rx. It also states, no hot tubs, heating pads, etc. The reason is because heat makes the patch absorb too quickly into your system and can cause overdose. This is VERY dangerous, so please be very careful with the patches.

Hope this helps! Take care,

Hidy Onyx~
I tan a lot... I have my own bed, so I dont have to worry that the bed is going to be scorching hot...try to get your appts early in the morning or ask the salon when its dead. that way you wont have to lie in a bed from hell. I put mine on my rib cage, and never lie on my stomach, either.
I tan for 20 min. and if I get hot I step out for a few. havent ever had a problem and Im heading to the Bahamas Friday and Ill let you know how they stayed on there.
Good luck!

I always lay on my back as well. I also go to a place where the max time is 7 minutes. So it shouldn't be too bad. I know tanning is bad but I only go once a year and I don't burn. We all have our thing and cellulite just looks better tan ;)

Izzz'smom: Let me know how it goes with keeping on the patch. I am planning on putting them around the bosom so that I can limit how wet it will get. Let me know if you have any recommendations.

Have fun!!!!

I unfortunately do have problems with the patches falling off sporatically. They do sell these sticky/tape like things to put over them to adhere them to your skin so it sticks and will not fall off. You can duragesic/Jannsen directly if you take name brand and they will send them to you free of charge, or you can get something like it at the pharmacies like cvs, walgreens, etc., you put it over it and pull off the backing and it sticks to the patch you have on.

As for the tanning i haven't heard anything about that, EXCEPT their is a warning not to have a direct heat source exposed to the patch because it will make the medication go into your system at a higher rate than normal which can be dangerous, like using a heating pad, jacuzzi, and i guess a tanning bed would too, depends where you have the patch though.
hope this helped.:wave: P.s. If you want to tan, you can always take the patch off while tanning and reapply after you are done.

I tan almosat every day. I live in an area wher its sub zero almost until the 1st of May~ I get out for a bit if I get too hot, and watch my body temp as well. Also I hot tub almost every nite as well, and my tub is set at 103-4 I think if you really just moderate your body temp you can be OK. But some ppl may not be able to be as lucky. Im not giving advice, just sharing my story. The hot tub really helps my back and neck. I have had my patch [sandoz] coome loos only on the first nite that I apply it and hot tub. Any other nite, no worries~
