For as far as I can remember, my hands have been very cold all the time. My nails are pretty small and have vertical ridges. They are also blue most of the time. My feet are cold most of the day as well. I have also noticed at times, although not lately, where my entire leg would start to go numb when just sitting down. I am just wondering if this can be a sign of poor circulation? And to add on to this, I have noticed that my short term memory can be a problem sometimes, and I get headaches more often than normal. Maybe it is just because I'm sleep deprived. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like poor circulation, could also be Raynauds Phenomenom (sp?), among other things.

You could also be anemic. Go and get checked out, could be something easily treatable.

It could be a thyroid problem.

If your fingertips are blue you need to see a doctor fast, and the rest of your symptoms sound like thyroid, or heart problem.

I am 32 and have extremely red hands...They use to go numb from time to time, but I increased my activity in life and do not spend any time on the couch watching tv anymore..I am out walking or doing some-"thing" may it be alundry, cleaning, helping in our biz...whatever, but staing still seems to increase all symptoms. Are your hands red as well? My hands are constantly cold but attending a dinner with a rhuematiod specialist who put my hands in an ice bucket to test if I had Raynauds was very optimistic in stating they di not turn white after 2 min's in ice. I am confused because it is what I thought I had. My hands are always cold unless it is warm outside and I do have a very extensive glove collection that I put to use. Any Ideas besides quitting smoking? I am down to 6-8 per day and working very hard. Thanks for any help

Alright, I looked up some of the symptoms of iron deficiency anemia. I noticed some of mine, which include: tinnutus, headaches (have had several days in a row with headaches), general feeling of weakness (i'm tired quite often), and one other thing I saw on here was twitching. I noticed I get these uncontrable muscle spasms sometimes, I just don't know if that's classified as twitching. Another thing I know seeing before is these vertical ridges on my nail can be caused by a lack of iron. Does this sound like anemia to anybody else?
