I'm about to start going on birth control but I am in fear of gaining weight because i already have to watch everything I eat and go to the gym on a regular basis and im still not the thinnest person in the world. I was thinking on going on Yaz, but i'm not exactly sure which one i will go on. If anyone could give me an insight on the pills they took and side effects they recieved that would be great.

Desogen (Apri) BCP's made me gain about 10 lbs. I stopped 3 weeks ago and have lost around 3-4lbs. I was fine when I was on Ortho Tri cylen. If I ever go back on them again I will go on Ortho Tri Cyclen. Both made me lose sex drive. Good luck to you!!

I have been on Ortho LO, Solia and now im on Yasmin and my Gyno told me that Yasmin is good for keeping the weight off and ive been on it since july 2006 and so far not much weight gain at all for me unlike ortho lo. But then it hasn't really made me loose much weight either just kept it the same. But i am going to stay on it though.

Most pills my weight stayed the same, but Ovcon 35 gave me such terrible water retention, I am still dealing with it 9 months after quitting the pill--though it is much improved now, thank God. I have lost 15 of 20 lb. of mostly water weight gained on Ovcon 35. I am seeing an endocrinologist later this month as this amount of severe water retention even after stopping the pill over half a year ago just doesn't seem normal. I'm a lot less bloated now, but I swear I can still feel fluid moving around in my legs...ugh! This water retention is the worst type of weight gain, it makes you look puffy and does not respond at all to good diet or exercise and is basically uncontrollable.

There is just as many people that gain weight as there is, people that lose weight. I lost 5 Ibs and kept it off

I'm on yaz .. I gained weight but I think it was just my chest. I went up a cup size.

I gained on Ortho Novum 777, Ortho Tri cyclen, and Ovcon 35.

I was on Yasmin for 2 years and yes my chest grew and I lost about 10 pounds. However I had a lot of other side effects with it and when I quit I gained about 6 pounds almost overnight (I think its the water retention) Its been extremely difficult to lose really. I am working out and eating less and the scale is just now starting to budge. Good Luck!

:dizzy: ok, so I was on Seasonale for 4 years...starting my 1st year of college. I went into college with a hot, sexy body weighing about 125lbs..I graduated a week ago and now I'm up to about 170+lbs!!!! Seasonale restricted my sexual drive (before the pill, I never needed lube) and made my apetite TRIPLE. My hot bod is gone, no matter how hard I work out and how little I eat. Not cool with me. In all those 4 years, my period never actually synched with the pill...I'd be on the inactive pills 5 days before my period started, which lasted 7 days...so I wasn't able to have sex for almost 2 weeks at a time!

Yesterday I finally started Loestrin24 and I'm really hoping it will have the opposite side effects. I need to lose weight, it's making my already-existing depression worse, and I'm simply not the awesome person I was when I started college. I went from drop-dead gorgeous size 5 to a girl whose thighs won't even fit into size 13 jeans! :confused:

Has this switch or anything like it worked for anyone else?????? Please let me know! help!
