HI, New here today. i have a question about swollen gums and pressure feeling. i went to the dentist yesterday for what i thought was a problem with my front teeth which have venneers on them. they have had somewhat of a sensitive feeling for 2 weeks now. He took an xray and there is a large dark area above a tooth next to my front one but its not right on top of the root. it kind of looks like a balloon that sits up high with a long skinny tail that does drift down towards the root. He tapped on all my front teeth pretty firmly with the end of his tool and i didn't feel any pain. He was kind of confused that the xray did show what looked to be a very large abscess but i have no pain in my teeth. ( i had a tooth abscess in the fall and it was the most painfull thing i have ever had) He thought maybe my sinuses however, i have no drainage, i am not sick. then he thought maybe i am clenching or grinding at night and irritating the root causing the dark area, whatever it may be. for right now he said to keep an eye on it and he filed down my one bottom tooth that may be hitting the top ones. Last night i had a really strong pressure feeling and my gums are definatly swollen all around my top front teeth. i felt like i could stick a pin in them and fluid would come out! i did have a little bit of a throbbing feeling but not a painfull throb, just a pressure like feeling. i am a dental phobic and i am so afraid to go through another root canal. does anyone have any experience with this or advice on what this may be?
