Hi, I was just diagnosed with PCOS this past friday. My DH and I have been TTC for about 2 years now. I knew something had to be preventing that from happening. I got a pelvic ultrasound...that's how I learned about me having PCOS. I go to the GYN in the morning for a consultation/ I assume he's going to tell me about PCOS and my options of TTC. I am really scared of what I maight have to do, and if I am going to get pregnant or not. I guess I am a little confused, after I read the symptons, the only one I have is the weight gain, pelvic pain. My periods are normal 28-29 days-every month. Is that possible. I thought I was ovulating? I am so stressed and worried. Please give me some type of clue of what me and my DH are in for.

Thank you very much

I have pcos obviously too ..
How did it go?
We are discussing mine in a couple weeks ...
but I already know the drill ..
I have had abnormal cells and colposcopies ... so no worries there

can you have kids ..if you are on a birth control I believe you can have kids and kind of work with the pcos ..its a treatment possiblity .. I was offered in nine years ago and didnt take it ...because I had already had experience with the pill and didnt like it ...
it caused my bipolar and borderline to get out of control ...
now I take a pill every three months ... for ten days straight ...
called Aysten ...something like that

but dont worry ..its not the end of the world

good luck
keep me posted
always

I have it too, but unlike you, my periods are anywhere from every two to 24 months. When we were trying to conceive the first thing they had us to was take my temperature every morning before getting out of bed, with a basal thermometer. When your temp stays lower you are not ovulating, if it rises a couple of tenths at some point during the month you are ovulating. If you are not, they will probably start you on clomid, a fertility drug. This often causes you to ovulate. It is a very simple treatment and the risk of multiple births is very low. I believe a 1 in 20 chance of twins and a lot less of a chance of higher order multiples. If that does not work you progess to the stronger fertility drugs, which are usually the injectable drugs. I had to move on to those, but during my first cycle I got pregnant and nine months later gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Three years later I gave birth to another little boy, conceived naturally because with PCOS, ovulation is usually just very irregular, not non-existant. Good luck!
