Yeah, I could probably go down this entire forum posting something in reply, so i'm just going to wait for new stuff to come up above this marker.
But while i'm here i might as well ask, anyone have any good ways to support the knee? I mainly do light weight slow motion leg extensions as of late. Toes in,out, and straight. It works great, and really brings out the definition in my quads. My knee pain really lessons for some time, but still comes back whenever it wants. Any comments?

Have you ever tried stability ball exercises? They target accessory muscles around the knee, as well as being a great core-stabilizing workout.

What kind of knee pain? Have you seen a doctor about it? Be very careful about how you treat an ailing knee. If you blow out your knee, your problems will increase exponentially and conceiveably keep you out of the gym for months. If it's just aches, a support brace or even an ace bandage might help you out.

No i haven't seen a doctor and i wont. I'm not going to let this hinder me getting into the army. I can function with it. It does hurt at times though, but doens't stop me from doing anything. It's a pain on the outside top edge of the knee cap i believe, i usually feel the pain when the leg is bent, like if i'm squating and having to lift up or going up steps where it's bent and having to go to full extension with a lot of weight.

I get the same thing sometimes... I have found it to be less of a hinderance if I do squats very slowly. I have no idea why, but if I start to get that stabbing pain, I slow down and it stops. Worth a shot, eh?

I'll have to try that out. What i usually have been doing is slow leg extensions to build up the quads and stuff around the knee so they'll be stronger to support it. But i need to go buy a knee brace to help support it when i run. See if that can't help me out some.
