I was diagnosed with RA almost 2 years ago and have been on methotrexate 18 months. I have had several slightly elevated liver panels and my rheumatologist keeps decreasing my dose, which leads to more pain. I am starting to get worried about liver damage. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi there!

MTX can really mess with some people's liver. When I first started taking it, my enzyme levels shot up quickly and my doc took me off it altogether.

It sounds like your levels are only slightly elevated, so your doc is lowering the dose to see what amount will work, without causing any problems to your liver.

What else are you taking for your RA besides MTX?
