Hello, I'm looking to possible fellow vicodin users for advice.
I'm 15 days post-op now. Over the past few days I have been having aches, mostly in my legs-an uncomforable uneasy achy feeling that prevents me from resting...also have had diarrhea and headaches. I've felt very anxious, jittery, depressed, and strange neurological symptoms like "zapping" feeliings when I turn my head to fast etc. I looked up vicodin withdrawal and noticed a pattern of similar symptoms...
I haven't really taken the vicodin very much for the past few days-FINALLY can handle the pain with ibuprofin. I WAS taking the vicodin every four-six hours for a few weeks.
Anyone else have withdrawal symptoms after only a few weeks of using vicodin??? I have decided to try to wean down off of it. Going cold turkey is gonna make me go insane!!!!!
Would appreciate any feedback! Thanks!!!

it will pass in a day or two and shouldn't get any worse. Hang in there, it will only get worse in your mind if you start reading about all the horries that could be happening, but are unlikely in such short term use, especially if you body also has to recovery from surgery; the effects of that will leave you suffering a little.

Just have a rest, what your favourite show; take some imodium ASAP, also pain killers like Iboprofen and Tylonal will help and then things will settle down before you know it.

Best wishes

Blaster.

I agree with blasterboy-you should be o.k. in a day or so.
Your story has made me remember when I had my first child-who's now 11. I had alot of trauma after the bith of my son-it was a long and rough labor and delivery. They gave me 2 weeks worth of percocet for pain-which was needed! I only took the medication as prescribed ,or less than prescribed. I felt very good mentally those 2 weeks and never thought it had anything to do with the percocet-I assumed it was post-partum hormones or something. Anyhow,Ater I felt better I stopped the medication and somewhere in that time I spent 24hrs in bed shaking, freezing (in July),and just crying! I also thought it was a post partum thing. It's amazing to me that with all my issues with these meds that I've never made the connection! I was going through withdrawal!
Boy, how times change! Back then I would have never thought to take anymore than I was told and if I felt like a motrin would help I would not take the narcotic. I really wish that was still the case now!
Good luck! You'll be fine-hope your throat feels better:)

Thank you both for your advice. I hope this passes soon! I feel like a nervous wreck! The throat is getting better thank goodness. I'm just shocked that after such a short time (just a few weeks) that your body could get so dependent....
