I have a dropped bladder, which my urologist said that I needed the mesh surgery. My gyno wants to do a hysterectomy at the same time. Not sure why though. Recently I have been having cramps in my lower abdomen, everyday. I am scheduled for a camera endoscopy with my gastro on Weds. for my celiac sprue. But I'm wondering if the pains are from my bladder that has dropped or a stomach problem? I have put off the surgery since Sept. since I am taking care of my elderly, sick parents. Every time I lift my mother I feel like my bladder drops a little more.
Just wondering if anyone else has had pains with their dropped bladder.

Hi,
I have not had any pelvic surgeries yet. I keep checking posts here and on the hysterectomy board to learn more about what to expect from them.

All I know is that if your uterus is fine, DON'T have it removed. Once the uterus is removed all the other pelvic organs don't have as good support and those organs down there tend to have more of a tendency to prolapse in the future. Since you already have issues with your bladder, you want to keep the uterus in there to help support it.

Also, I have not heard great things about mesh. But I cannot give you any specific details. Please do your research before having any type of surgery. Also, please research your doctor and get a second opinion from a completely different doctor/practice before having any surgery.

Just wondering if anyone else has had pains with their dropped bladder.I had cramps(similar to light contractions) and my dr. also wanted to do a hysrerectomy along with bladder and rectal wall repair. The muscles in the pelvic area become loose over time from giving birth etc. If your uterus is not being held properly by these muscles it can "fall" causing the bladder and everything else to fall as well. I waited 2 years too long to have the hysterectomy and bladder repair and ended up with 3 more repairs. The moral is get the surgery as soon as you are able so you do not end up w/ more problems.

Hi just wondering if this sounds like anything familar. ive been having urine samples done for a few years now for different things and always seems to come back showing blood in the urine but not to the naked eye. and now im having where when i have to pee its very sudden and have to run to make it and alot of the times now i dont make it all the way. theres no itching or burning so no infection but i know years ago like maybe 13 years ago i had this thing done where they filled my stomache or something with air i guess and said my uterus was tipped and sitting on my bladder if i remeber this right. also i know awhile ago i was told my uterus was enlarged and thick so what would they do test wise for this type of thing and what can these test tell ive also noticed for awhile now that i seem to get cramps like menstral type quiet often but not just at that time
