I am trying to find out some more information on Methadone not only for pain but, for addiction too. I would love to hear from people who have used this and if they were sucessful or not. Positive and negative just anything please. I have just started methadone and I am a nervous wreck. Any input would be very apreciated. It is keeping me up all night just from being worried on all the bad things I have heard. I know this board is very knowledgeable and helpful!!! I would be soooo grateful to hear from anyone?? It is what it is and you are at the point where you are at. I was on it two different times for over a year both times and did not have good experiences with it. Yes it stopped me from getting high. Yes it allowed me to work and fuction. Did it cure my addiction? No...it made it worse and stronger than ever. Methadone is purer and stronger than many street opiates or pills out there. It is potent stuff and that is why it works along with the fact that it is long acting. If you are not ready to buck up and completely change your life and go through w/d's then maybe it is just where you are in life right now and so be it. Pain issues....I don't know about but methadone would be just like any really stron pills...it would work I suppose. Good luck honey. I would stay on a low dose and only be on it for a short time if possible. The w/d's from methadone are like no others I have ever experienced cold turkey. I was on a very high dose. 200mg
