Is it true that fiber can make you can weight if consumed in excess? I've tried to encorporate more into my diet recently but my weight has only increased and I often feel bloated. What is going on? I would appreciate any help- thanks!

Are you drinking enough water with the fiber, so it doesnt bulk up? And fiber can also cause gas.

The beauty, and health benefits, about fiber is that the calories slowly enter the blood stream, allowing the body to handle the calorie load gradually. If you consume too many calories at one sitting, and aren't able to burn off the excess calories through exercise, you cause too many calories to enter your body at one time, overloading your system, and causing all kinds of havoc.
About how many calories are you eating each day?

Actually, yes, I believe you can eat too much fiber and it is detrimental to your health, for many reasons. I just read part of a book on the subject that is VERY eye opening. Called "Fiber Menace".
And actually, as far as drinking a LOT of water to bulk things up with the fiber, is the WRONG thing to do according to the book, as it swells things up, causing even more problems, but it goes into more details than I can explain here. But as I said it is very enlightening.
