Thank you, Dee Sponsor gocatsgo 03-12-2007, 10:34 AM Hi Dee, Welcome! I am sorry for your sister's diagnosis. Please find out - where is her tumor? (colon or rectum -- makes a difference in treatment) What is her stage (TNM stage?) if she has that yet. Did they remove the tumor yet? Usually w/rectal cancer there is radiation/chemo BEFORE surgery. If it is colon cancer, often surgery comes first followed by post-op chemo - depending on the pathology/stage of the tumor. Let us know and we can help you out. There are many survivors here to help you out! Take care, Cats DeeDee78 03-12-2007, 11:05 PM Thank you for the info. She is to see an oncologist tomorrow. I'm sure he'll explain everything. I'm worried because she is 80 and somewhat frail. Thank you, Dee hiswife1 03-13-2007, 12:29 PM Hi Dee, Big prayers today for your sister's oncology visit. On another board I am on there is a lady whose mother is in her 80's diagnoised with stage iv and she is doing great. Currently she is in remission. Just wanted to let you know that chemo can be tolerated by people of all ages. :) DeeDee78 03-13-2007, 11:55 PM Thank you Hiswife1 and Gocatsgo. The oncologist is sending her to a surgen. He says it's so small that he believes they'll only have to take out that little section and they wont have to remove any colon. Also she wont need radiation or chemo. I pray it all works that way. Thanks again, Dee hiswife1 03-14-2007, 11:58 AM Hi Dee, That is wonderful news!! Big prayers for an uneventful surgery and speedy recovery.:) |
