Has your son been diagnosed Bipolar? Could you provide a bit more information. I'm not sure what it is you are asking. If you could tell us a little more about what you're seeing with your son's behavior, more people could offer suggestions.

Thanks.

Aahh yes...........ADHD/BP/ODD
he is currently on Abilify and the ********. He is very mouthy, not the normal teenage mouth,,,,although with no vulgar language. Doesn't want to do good in school, doesn't want to succeed. He feels as though he's dumb, and can't do the things he needs to do.......although I and everyone else knows he can. His outbursts have calmed down drastically since he started the Abilify, and spent a few days in a behavioral center away from family. doesn't want to listen to authority, tends to tell me i'm bugging and annoying him, especially in the morning when it's time to get up for school, as he's not a morning person, and sometimes i think he thinks that the day is not going to start without him!! I wish that were true...right?? LOL
he takes things from his older brother, then says he didn't do it. tends to lie, then gets upset WHEN i don't believe him. ex....last nights homework, he said he did in ISS yesterday. come to find out, what i ?? him on last nite.........he has NOT done! i'm going to try him also on the Omega 3's/fish oil...see if that will help also. time for him to be home from school soon........it ought to be interesting.

take care

FYI my son is on the lowest possible dose, which is actually 2mg pills. This newer dosage is nice because we just needed to increase and I actually cut the 2mg bill in 1/2 to up his dosage to 3mg a day.

We've had the most unbelievable response to being just on the Abilify. I've decided to always go to baseline and not do cocktails so I can see reactions of one script. He's been so much more compliant and polite, easier-going, and less frustrated. We have a dx of AS w/mood disorder (original dx of bp but I disagree, either unipolar or part of AS). Whatever the label a lot of the same elements you describe. The first 2 weeks on Abilify we had notes home from principal/teachers saying what fantastic weeks he had. This week he's on it 4 months. Hoping this lasts and enjoying the moment!

TwinsBP.......that's great to hear! I hope it continues to work for him too.

My son, 13, is on Abilify 5mg 1x a day...in the evening. I can't believe how much better he is doing. Still a few bumps in the road,,,,but it's a good start. We may up it just a bit. but first.......we took him off the ********, as he says he doesn't think he needs it with the Abilify, and his doctor said he may not. So starting today.........no ********. The abilify tonite and i am also giving him Omega 3 Fish Oil 1000mg twice a day, am & pm.
And.......if he needs the ********, he can go back on it. but i am hoping that this will work for him,,,only being on the Abilify. I don't want him to be on anything he doesn't need to be on. As i am sure everyone will agree too.

Take care and good luck to ya
