D:blob_fire id you know there is testing for Bi-polar?. IN my home state I went to Oregon

Health Sciences Center, for all day testing.,. then they mail the results to you . It cost $250.00.....1991- the test confirmed that I had Bi-polar illness

If you are unsure if you have Bi-polar illness it is a way to confirm it...
At the time my P-doc said she thought I had it but wanted me to go to have the testing done...
Sometimes we are in denial or we want reasurance, maybe your state will have a place that does testing..oh my insurance didnt cover it. I paid the fee out of pocket...

 wow, i was told there wasn't any testing for bi-polar. was i lied to? what exactly did they do? i would think that everyone who has bi-polar would want to have this test done especially since we all have a hard time accepting the diagnoses. must be something new, please get back to us as i'm sure we are all interested. :blob_fire

I apologize for not naming the testing... I was given written papers with multiple questions.. and then I was interviewed and asked more questions. then more paper work....( 8 hrs total of questions, etc.)

I have no idea if other states have this testing. but since it was in 1991 call your state Health line and ask..If one state has it another .will.

You could ****** online : Oregon Health Sciences Center.,Portland, Oregon and then call them to ask if they know of another state that does the same testing.??????or they may have an email for you to contact them...instead of calling...

P-docs may not tell us this as they may not want to rely on Written tests. but ifyou look online,,, there are several tests for depression one can take.. but they are very simple with very few questions....

My husband had testing done by a neuropsychologist. Sounds similar to the testing mentioned here but it took three long sessions spread over three weeks. It's not exactly testing for bipolar but the results revealed it as well as OCPD and ADD. BTW, if your state offers it for $250 that's a bargain--we paid $2700! Well worth the price, though, volumes of information...
