After remembering what total boring flat shite I thought stephen frys programme came across as the first time i watched it, I remember watching the illustrated mum, with michele collins as a bipolar mum. I loved that drama and have watched it a couple of times since. I think it did well in a short period of time to put across some difficult aspects of the illness with respect and consideration for bps. Stephen Frys trying to normalise the illness comes across exactly how everyone who doesnt understand the illness sees it. ie whats the big deal!!! Why couldnt he have got real and shown the pain, anquish, mania, etc we go through daily.............:blob_fire

Maybe he doesn't know any better? But he says he is undiagnosed bipolar. Surely only normal boring farts without the swings of depression and mania dont know any better? Mind you I am a drama queen. Perhaps Stephen suffers much more with the depression side of things?? Certainly depressed me. Because I thought it gave no insight into the illness for non bps.

I am not familiar with him or with his work, so I should not have commented.

I have yet to see anything in the media that presents bipolarity in a realistic way.
