My daughter who is 15 had been having severe cramping with her menstrual periods. A ultrasound showed she had a retroverted uterus. Her doctor said that was the cause of her painful periods, so she started her on alesse . She said her periods would not be so painful. She is on week 3 and now spotting, and now shes cramping in beween periods. Has anyone else had any problems with alesse? Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks:)

i am not sure. i am on the generic form of alesse(lutera) and i just started though. but i do know that they say it takes your body 3 months to get used to the pill. i know that is not much help sorry. i do know it takes your body some time to get on track and get used to it. i know i was on ortho tri cyclen before and if i skipped one pill i would have t hat break through bleeding or spotting. i know ortho tri cyclen lo (which is a low dose pill like alesse) is known for breakthrough bleeding so maybe alesse does to. sorry ican't help more
