Good morning all. In Dec 06 I started taking Zoloft, 50 mg per day. It worked wonders for me, but a year later I then started to feel as though I should try cutting my dosage down. In Jan. 07 I began to cut my dosage to 25mg, and thus far has worked fine. However, when I tried to cut down completely (which my doc knows I am doing) just the past week, i began having major anxiety again (sweating, dizziness, palpiltations, etc).

I guess my question is, if I give it a chance and try to go without the Zoloft, am I suppose to get worse again since my body is adjusting to not having the meds? Or does that just mean I should keep taking them? I hate taking medications and I wanted to at least try going off them.

Thanks!

You will most likely feel a bit of anxiety and or depression. your body needsto adjust to producing chemicals on its own. Just give it time. You will get better.

make sure you take a LONG time to come off the medication. If you want to cut back to come off the meds in a month, cut it back slower to 2 months. The slower the better.
