My bf and I had sex for the first time last night and it was completely unplanned and not discussed beforehand and we more or less got carried away. He is very inexperienced and therefore it was not long or involved.
I am on the pill (Yasmin) but do not take it for contraception...more so for my painful periods. Therefore, because I was not having sex, I was not really taking it carefully...some nights I would totally forget, others I would remember at 3 am and take it when I usually take it at 11 pm...u get my point.
Well I also take my pack continuously until about 3 months in, and that is whne I go to teh placebos. Two days ago, I started getting crampy and spotty so I skipped a pill and assumed I would just let my period happen.
Yesterday was the day after skipping the pill, and yesterday is when we had sex. Unbeknownst to me, he came inside me...twice. He said he thought it was fine because I was on the pill...but I didnt know he was going to do that and he didnt tell me until afterwards.
I am completely scared because I have been taking the pill so irregularly. I try to take it every day or at least not skip one...but because I didnt take it Tuesday night to let my period happen, is this going to seriously raise my chances of getting pregnant?
After I found out he came inside me, I took two pills- one for Wednesday and the one that I could have taken Tuesady night had I not decided to let my period come. Today I am still bleeding a little, but very light...though only a little lighter than yesterday. Im also kind of crampy, but not like menstrual cramps...I think its because I took two pills at once...kind of like the effects of the morning after pill (Im hoping)?
Should i be terrified? What can I do?

You can take the morning after pill within 72 hours- however you must be 17 or have a parents permission. I heard it has some side effects though.
If you are truely terrified of getting pregnant I would quickly give it some thought.
Because you've been taking the pill so irregularily I can't begin to guess your chances of conceiving.Good luck!

Would they give it to me even if I took 2 b.c. pills at once late last night? Would that be too much hormonal overload?? I thought by taking 2-3 of the same pill it would have similar effects to the morning after, especially if its already in your system, but I could be wayyyy off.
If it would be OK for me to take it, I will go do it, I dont care about the side effects.

the only way to have your question about the morning after pill for certain is to go to the doctor, or call.

I would suggest at least calling up the doctor and asking about the morning after pill.. unless you're ready to be a young mother! Better safe then sorry.

As for side effects, I've heard that you can expect cramping for a day or so, and to feel nauseous.

From my understanding, BC pills are only 99.9% fool proof if used correctly. Chances of pregnancy improve if they are taken inconsitantly, if you're using any anti-biotics... if you read the information that comes with your BC perscription, it will answer your questions.

It's impossible to know for certain what your chances of pregnancy are.. but if there is even a slight chance, and you're not ready or wanting a baby, then i'd definitely make an appointment with the doctor.

Good luck.

That's exactly what I was going to suggest.

Teacher2be, don't even worry about it, its a pretty common phrase/question, especially in a topic like this one!
Well I took everyone's advice and bought Plan B. It had been 17 hours or something like that...but less than a day. Im hoping thats OK- had I known you could get them OTC I would have gone at 2 am last night to get it!!
I took the 2 pills at once. I feel a little yucky but I felt yuckier this morning after doubling up on my Yasmin. Im just bloated and crampy and just feel uncomfortable, but that doesnt matter...I hope I will be oK.
Does the fact htat Im on BC, even if I didnt take it perfectly, decrease my chances of conception?? Or does it not matter if u dont take it right?
THanks for your help.
