Emsam patch revs me up (does help with depression). Tried adding back Abilify, but it makes me sooo hungry.
I'm asking my doc about adding in a small dose of Seroquel at night to help me sleep.
Is this better for sleep and mood stabilization than a benzo?
What about hunger? When I take even a small dose of Abilify at night I wake up really, hungry!
Anyone know about weight gain from tiny dose of Seroquel? Is it a good mood stabilizer?

Serequol is a great medication. many people on this board take it. it is not a mood stabilizer tho.. mood stabilizers are lithium, lamictal and some others. maybe TS, will help you out with those drugs.. serequol will definitly help you sleep, my son is on 400 mgs per night in the rehab right now..and he told me he is sleeping better.

Seroquel didn't help my lady sleep, it did the opposite. She was over sensitive and if I moved at all she was awake. Doc added Trazadone so she could sleep. Don't let this stop you, just be aware that medicine effects each person differently.

I was given seroquel for 2 1/2 months. I gained 24 pounds. I slept like a baby for three hours at a stretch until around 5:00a.m. and during the awake time I craved food like never before. I slept from 5:00a.m. until I would awake groggy and disgusted with myself for sleeping so uncontrollably until around 10 or 11. I was on 300mgs. a night and am now trying to wean myself off. I do not sleep AT ALL and my chest hurts and I wheeze if I take really deep breaths. I have tried EVERY over the counter medication there is and my doctor put me on Rozerem which doesn't work AT ALL. He's not happy that I want off the seroquel so he won't give me anything else. It's a tough path to be on so don't start unless you HAVE TO. I was diagnosed, mistakenly with Bipolar II and have now been labeled PTSD. Either way, there must be another answer.

I started on 400mg of Seroquel 10 days ago and I have slept through the night every night since. It's been great. I woke up groggy the first day, but that was it. I have found that I am more hungry than usual though, and craving sweet food really bad. I have been eating heaps of chocolate and I sure I've already put on a few kilos.

I was just prescribed Seroquel today & want to know how others felt about their experience with it.
I don't know if I am bipolar or not, but because my sister is bipolar, my doctor put me on a low dose (25 mg a day) because all of my symptoms of depression have improved except my cognitive functioning.
I'm already on 150 mg Wellbutrin twice daily for my depression & 30 mg Dexedrine twice daily for my ADHD.
Any personal experience with Seroquil will be great.
