I have a case of acide refulx I was diagnosed with. I was put on Nexium and it worked, my only problem is it has caused me to gain weight despite following Weight Watchers and walking/jogging five miles a day six days per week.

I have stopped taking the Nexium but I can feel my acid reflux coming back. Does anyone know of anything natural I could try? I really don't want to go back on the Nexium unless I have to.

I take digestive enzymes after every meal and occasionally a papaya chewable. I also take chlorophyll once a day. It works for me. Probiotics also seem to work for other people but you have to get a high quality one.

You are having what is called the "rebound effect" because you quit your PPI cold turkey. I have heard the best thing to do is to wean yourself off the PPI but very slowly. Many people swear that DGL has helped. I too have tried to get off the PPI and in a couple of days I start to feel the acid coming back with a vengeance. I am using the DGL along with Protonix but I can't really say if the DGL is helping. The taste is horrible but if it works.......

I found something that has been working perfectly for me. Zinc. I guess I must have some sort of zinc deficiency. I take one 10 MG pill after my first and second meal. I don't want to take anything over 20 MG per day so for my third meal I'll take an apple cider vinegar pill. It doesn't work as well as the zinc but I don't want to take too much.
