my doctor put me on lactulose today because my lower abdominal x-ray showed me being pretty well backed up. i never have constipation, infact i'm very regular (every morning between certain hours) and I eat a lot of fiber. So my doctor thinks I have a slow stomach or something and wants me to talk lactulose for up to 2 weeks and see how it goes. anyone here have this problem and if this is indeed my problem, is there any other ways to get my digestive system moving faster? I already eat very well and exercise.

Slow bowel...yeah, that's about the summary of my problem. I have never heard of the lactulose treatment but am intrigued enough to research it.
My BMs take just over an hour and it really is because I am obsessive about getting it all out--and I do get a lot out. This way I don't have to go again the rest of the day (btw, I think unfinished business is the reason people that have to go everytime they eat).
But I am always looking for a way to get things going faster and I so I'll look into this lactulose. Please let us know how it works for you.
Also, btw, natural state psyllium has worked well in changing my stool from very flat to more round, much longer and softer. :)
