let me just begin by saying that i am a complete hypochondriac.

for the past few weeks, i have been getting weird, uncomfortable sensations in my legs before going to sleep. it made it very difficult for me to fall asleep. of course, i thought that it may have been restless leg syndrome. however, whenever i am due for my period i get pains in my legs that almost feel like growing pains. i got my period, and have also been feeling very drained (which is expected, of course). i am feeling OVERLY drained, like so exhausted to the point where i can barely get out of bed in the morning .. which is totally abnormal for me to be feeling that way. i'm worried that maybe i have some sort of disease which is why im feeling so exhausted. additionally, i have been getting spasms/twitchy feelings in my calf muscles .. which is really bothering me. my legs have also been feeling very weak .. just in the calves though. i just want to know what's wrong with me! :( i had an MRI/blood tests done in december, everything was normal.

Have you been drinking plenty of fluids? I sometimes get cramps in my calves and feet if I haven't been drinking enough water. Also, low potassium could do this. Try eating a banana every day. You say you had tests in december but that these symptoms have only been for a few weeks? What were you tested for in Decemeber? Hormones can do funny things to us around our periods! If this is something that ONLY occurs during that time, then it is probably just hormonal and I wouldn't worry about it. Or, if it is bothering you that much, wouldn't hurt to have it checked out by your Dr. .....good luck.

i drink plenty of water every day .. and these symptoms have only been going on for about 2 weeks. in december, i got an MRI because i have a benign pineal brain cyst and i needed to get a check-up MRI to make sure it didn't grow in size. i got blood tests done around the same time because i was complaining of this same "growing pain" feeling. everything came back normal.

however, these feelings im getting my legs are different. they're more "crampy" as opposed to growing pains, and i'm getting spasms in my feet, thighs, calves, you name it. additionally, i began feeling spasms in my hands and back that i can feel. i'm just very worried that i have somethign wrong with me. . i'm going to try to get to the doctor this week..

I had a similar feeling while I was pregnant. Try eating a banana an hour or two before you go to bed. That can be a sign of low potassium levels, especially since you feel so drained as well. Obviously, I'm not a doctor, but that would be the first at home remedy I'd try.

Hi there. I get muscle spasms so badly that my whole body aches. I feelas though my whole body isgoing numb. After a while I get a metallic taste in my mouth and pins and needles in my feet and hands. I also feel as though there are muscles in my legs and arms that cramp and go cold or burn. I have had millions of tests and everything else. So i know that the are related to anxiety. I have lived with this for 5 yeras now. I believe that it is all related to muscle tension. Because being tense does not always mean just neck and back but all muscles. Hang in there. They come out of the blue not always when one is in a panic situation. Sorry.
