Been meaning to post this for some time because I think its important. I have had palps and atrial fib for the past 6 years. I've had to go to the ER a couple of times to get converted because my heart was running 190 bpm and all over the place. Anyway, it took me 4 years to discover that the major episodes of afib were all caused by monosodium glutamate.(MSG)
It also turned out that I apparently was addicted to msg as most everything in my cupboards and fridge had msg in them. I stopped eating anything with msg and went over a year without an episode. Every once and awhile I'll eat some by accident and then the heart starts freaking out and possibly a fibbing. I just wanted to get this out there in case someone else is inadvertantly doing the same thing to themselves without realizing it. MSG is in sooooo many foods its rediculous. I'm now an msg expert and I can tell you its probably in 60% of everything. So if you should have palps or fibrillation after eating, check the label of what you ate and see if it has msg in it.
