I have large pores on my nose and cheeks. If I use any kind of foundation it settles into the pores and they look HUGE! Anyone have this problem? Any suggestions on how to fix this? Also, I have really dry skin on my face, even if I exfoliate in the shower and then put lotion on...it still flakes. I use face wash and then use a layer or two off my body pouf and use that to get all (or what I can) the dead skin off. This is really frustrating!!

I have the exact same problem and it's really irritating. I usually apply foundation and then mineral powder on top of that, but that seems to dry out my face (matte finish) and makes my pores look even bigger (especially in certain lighting). I've been looking for ways to make my makeup look more fresh and dewy so the pores aren't so obvious, but so far I haven't found a makeup that works.
What does help make the pores less obvious is a primer. My skin has been really dry recently despite the fact that, like you, I exfoliate and apply moisturizer and everything. So I tried using a primer to even out the makeup and it worked.
There are a bunch of different makeup primers out there but they're really expensive. I don't wanna spend tons of money on makeup so I did research and found out that the Monistat Chafing Gel is pretty much the same as most makeup primers. I guess it has the same ingredients, and it's much cheaper. So I bought it and that's what I use. It works great and doesn't clog pores.
You basically apply a thin layer on your face after moisturizing. Than you apply foundation and whatever else you use on top of that. I kinda helps blend the makeup and also makes it last longer.
Hope this helps.

I agree the primer may help although I can't use mine all the time. I use it mainly for if I'm going out and won't to look a little more made up. I use Smashbox photo finish and it's great! They can give you a sample of it to try as well.

well, i can tell you how to deal with the pores??? i am telling you the best thing for pores that really works is md skincare products. the alpha beta daily face peel makes you skin perfect and clears and tightens pores. if you need more than that and you are acne prone you could try the all over blemish solution. you put it on underneath your foundation and it totally clears your pores

Wish I could spend that kind of money on the MD! Just can't seem to justify...

First of all, large pores are forever. Once you got them, you keep them. Nothing, and I mean nothing, can "shrink" pores. Many products which claim to do that simply cause a bit of irritation on your skin so that the surrounding tissue swells and makes the pores look smaller. The effect is VERY temporary. It does help to use products which exfoliate your skin because they help to remove the debris that is clogging your pores and that make them look better.
Secondly, I am very opposed to using foundation precisely for the reason you mention. It's supposed to make skin look better by covering up imperfections but what it does instead is emphasize and magnify every little imperfection.
The one thing that I have seen women use that does seem to really make the pores disappear is a product from Clinique. I believe it's called Pore Minimizer and comes in a small tube. It's silicone based, just like the other "primers" mentioned. Perhaps all the primers work on the same principal: silicone. It acts as a spackle and fills the pores in and makes them disappear. I would give it a try. Throw your foundation away.
