Sorry if this has been coverd before but just found this site and am so worried. I am going into hospital tomorrow for a colonoscopy,have had bad diarrhoea for 6 months,lately excrutiating pain on left side but also higher up on right,cramps that are more like labour contractions etc. Last night I had to drink 1 litre of Klean Prep which gives you terrible diarrhoea,this worked 2 hrs later but I was so shocked as the toilet bowl was completely red,just like dark/;medium red water. I had to go again during the night but the colour was then normal for diarrhoea.
I did suffer from IBS for yrs but have had no problems in the past 6 yrs than as I said 6 mths ago things started to change. Could this be a symptom of colon cancer? I would be so grateful if someone could reply quickly.

I also had red diarrhea the night before my colonoscopy, it must be something we eat/drink/take that causes that.

I only ate 1 slice of chicken,same at lunchtime,couldn,t face anything else,had only drank water all day.
