For those of you who have had three epidural injections and have gotten better, what did you do after having the injections? Did you give up doing things or did you stay active? Please give me some kind of advice so that I will know what to do and what not to do. Thank you very much for your help!

Unfortunately I did not get better but the idea behind the injections is to get your pain controlled so that once your doctor gives you the okay you can start back on strengthening those core muscles. Your doctor should recommend specific back strengthening exercises and tell you to walk, walk, and walk each and every day.

You will start these slowly and if a particular exercise bothers you, you know that you need to stop and try something else.

Good luck and I pray that these injections resolve your pain. That would be EXCELLENT!!

I had same response as 123dietdrpepper. I have a friend who had only one series of injections and was cured. He does landscaping work and you know the kind of work they do. He had his last injection 9 months ago. It's worth a try but the norm is not that good.

I had injections both epidural and spinal. unfortunately, neither worked for my case. I have heard of people that they do work. It is slightly painful but no big deal if you are in great pain. you should plan on taking it easy the rest of the day but by the next you should feel ok shot wise. it may take a few days for the effect to show if it is going to work.

How long did it take after the injection before he could say he was cured?
