Hello
has anyone else gotten this from birth control pills?
If so, how did you get rid of it and how long did it take? Mine looks like a mustache : (
very unattractive!!!! I got off the pill and it still hasn't gone away. I have some bleaching cream but it makes my face peel.

i had that as well during and after my last pregnancy. my dd will be three in april and i still have it. mine looks like an actual mask around eyes and down the cheeks. my derm gave me a prescription cream (it was 100 to fill) and i never tried it because it was so expensive. it'll go away soon as long as you stay out of the sun or use a very good sunscreen.

I got a small sign like the shape of crescent moon because of the BC and I was only using it for 6 months. Accordingto my doctor some people are inclined to get it because of the estrogen. I have tried OCT bleaching creams but no big results..

I apply sun cream with SPF 15 every day and I have heard good reviews of Shiseido line..yet to try it though. I have postponed a dermatologist visit for the longest, if I ever go I'll let you know.

It will not go away on it's own. I've had mine on the right side of my face for about 13 years. Some spots looke like freckles but the other 2 spots are in the shape of a circle and the size of a half dollar coin. I tried EpiQuin Micro that my derm had to write a scrpit for. It was $120 per tube. It didn't work well. It lightened them but not gone. Still noticeable.

I wanted her to do a chemical peel on me but she told me that Fraxel might work better for my skin. That's a lazer treatment. Chemical peel, Blue peels TCA peels, lazer treatments are the next step if the bleaching cream does not work for you .

Melasma is not from birth control pills. Doctors and other healthcare professionals are just guessing. I see so many men who of course have never taken a birth control pill in their lives. My melasma was so bad I slept in my foundation to keep my kids from seeeing my face. My melasma was black. I got rid of it using a formula from a book "Secrets Skin Care Companies & Dermatologists Don't Want You To Know" by Nancy Holloway-Prince. The book is full of all natural skin care formulas that really work. I have to use the solution I make in my kitchen everyday at a cost of just pennies a day.

Mine is across my forehead, more on the left than the right side. It looks worse when I get tanned. So I learned to put a much higher SPF on the forehead area. When I am not tanned it's not too noticable. And now that I'm off the BC's it seems it's not as bad as it used to be. I noticed mine got worse over time as I was on the pill. I was on the pill for 18 years and it started showing up about 5 or 6 years ago.
