My dad has cancer and he will be starting chemo and radiation this coming Monday. Between family members, we will take turns driving him to and from treatment. The doctors told him how toxic he will be. They told him to flush twice after using the washroom, and other precautions to take.
Should I be worried about this? Can his toxicity negatively affect my health?

Both myself and another family member have had radiation therapy for cancer. Neither one of us was told we'd be "toxic", and I have never heard that term used (or that advice given) for anyone who's had normal radiation therapy.
On the other hand, if he's being treated with radioactive isotopes or radioactive iodine, then this advice would apply.
So I guess you need to find out exactly what type of radiation treatment he'll be having. And even with radioactive isotopes or iodine, I think you just need to minimize close contact, such as long hugs, sitting very close, etc.
