I was reading on the Brand/Generic names of these oral erectile dysfunction (ED) tablets. I decided to compile this information for you all, just to take the trouble out of you having to weigh the differences to make your decisions on which is better/or which one to use. You can thank me later. Here is what I came across. I have tried the “lil’ blue pill”, neither that nor the Cialas did not work for me. I was told that I did not give tablets a chance to work. In addition, what ever you do, do NOT drink or eat grapefruit while using this as it will not work. I believe that is why it did not work for me. I was drinking grapefruit everyday. No one bothered to explain this to me, not even the Pharmacist. I had to read about the generics, and actually visit their websites to find this out. I hope that this works for everyone that has not tried these tablets yet.
Viagra (Sildenafil Citrate) – Pfizer (27 March 1998)
Viagra works up to 4.5 - 5 hours
Viagra is taken 60 minutes before sex
Side effects are similar - up to 10% of users experience headache, red face
Viagra pills are easier to split (Note: I do not think they are)
Note: Taking sildenafil and drinking grapefruit juice may cause sildenafil to not work as well for you or may cause more side effects.
Levitra (Vardenafil) - Bayer/Glaxo (19 August 2003)
Levitra works for up to 5 hours
Levitra is taken 25 - 60 minutes before sex
Side effects are similar - up to 10% of users experience headache, red face
Levitra is reported to be more effective for diabetics
Talk to your doctor about drinking grapefruit juice while taking this medicine.
Cialis (Tadalafil) – Icos/Eli Lilly (21 November 2003)
Cialis has been approved for duration of 36 hours; however, there are studies showing high efficacy out to 100 hours.
Cialis is taken 20 - 60 minutes before sex
Side effects are similar - up to 10% of users experience headache, red face
Cialis is reported to be more effective for diabetics
A 20 mg dose of Tadalafil is comparable to a 100 mg dose of sildenafil (Viagra).
Note: To minimize your chances of experiencing side effects, avoid drinking grapefruit juice with Cialis.
